Having found a three-day pass last minute, I was able to attend the second day of Austin’s annual Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival at Zilker Park and got to witness Mos Def and Ghostland Observatory put on amazing performances.
Rain or shine, ACL went on and despite Mos Def’s lack of punctuality, Dante Terrell Smith (a.k.a. Mos Def) and his band but on an outstanding performance on Day 2 of the festival. Some people know Mos Def from his on screen performances in various films such as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Italian Job, Cadillac Records, and many others, but others know him for his hip-hop music and popular song “Casa Bey” from recent album the Ecstatic.
Austin’s very own Ghostland Observatory also performed and helped close day 2 of ACL. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Aaron Behrens, and back ground vocals, drummer, and keyboardist, Thomas Turner, came and delivered to Austin what they came for with there Electro Punk music, amazing laser show, and Aaron’s crazy dance moves. There couldn’t have been a better way to end day 2 of ACL with someone from Austin.
